It’s been a while but I do have an excuse/reason for my absence from the blogosphere…
More of that later.
First I need to round off my fun time at Quilt Festival – Chicago. On Saturday I was the Yo-Yo Mama in the Embellish Studio.
No pictures of me at work but I rest assured that I made lots of yo-yos!!
Each “studio” had a design wall with art work from the visiting artists. I was well represented on this board.
Cheryl was very busy with two slots in the studios and a Create On The Spot class. I found a happy place to sit and stitch and made this little postcard.
Do you like the good angle on my face? Darlene spent a lot of time posing me… I’m not so sure I made such a good job for her…
We went home happy but tired on Saturday evening.
I took a picture of my three days worth of purchases… Wonderfil thread and thread holder, Superior titanium needles in four sizes, not-to-be-left-behind fabric from Marcia Derse and the requisite show guide, tote and pin. Note the exhibitor badge and ribbon…
Then it was on to the next thing… This year has been a year of “before England” and “after England”. The day of departure was finally upon us so Sunday was spent packing before we headed out to the airport. We were delayed for an hour by a rather spectacular thunderstorm and lots of rain…
but we were finally cleared for take off and we were on our way…
We were staying in the Peak District surrounded by lots of sheep but slow internet at our holiday cottage (reason for lack of blog). Very picturesque…
In between visits with friends and family we found a couple of quilt stores (no surprise there?)
This is the Arkwright Mill in Cromford where we found Quiltessential.
I decided I needed yardage of some green Oxshott cottons as a souvenir of our trip…
and a pattern and some ribbon…
Then we headed up the road to Heirs and Graces, found in an old church building,
with lots of fabric to choose from.
I bought some lovely linens and more ribbon.
Of course, it being England we enjoyed some rain,
but the sun came out in time for our niece’s wedding!
Now I am staying at my dad’s for a week. We went out and about this afternoon. Jolly meat from happy animals?
It’s good to be connected at a better speed… If I get time to stitch there might be more pics soon!
