Quilt Festival – Chicago, Day 1

We were out and about early yesterday morning, headed back to the Rosemont Convention Center for the first full show day.

Number one stop (after coffee and oatmeal) was the Open Studios area with our bags and then there was time for a little look around. I sat with the ladies from Riverwalk Quilters Guild selling raffle tickets for a while. The drawing is tomorrow, Someone, somewhere will be very happy at about 3.15pm!

Soon it was time to head back to the Studio area to get set up. Pokey was doing a printing demo.

DSC04068 I don’t have any pictures of me this time but I spent a happy two hours with my fabric coil pots and then another two hours with African Folklore Embroidery. There were lots of people to stop by so the two hour sessions went very quickly.

At 7pm it was time for our Modern Meet Up over at the Hilton. We had around 30 attendees and some marvelous door prizes. Here are the Chicago Modern Quilt Guild ladies pulling the names in front of our banner.

DSC04076That’s a good looking banner don’t you think?

So this morning we are headed back to Rosemont. I will be the Yo-Yo Mama at noon. I have my bag of tricks packed. It should be another fun-filled day.
