IQF day 2

Day 2 was actually yesterday! but never mind… a combination of exhausted Catherine and overheated internet delayed this post…

Cincinnati is pleased to have the quilters in town… the Convention Center constantly reminds us of this fact.

Once inside there is lots to see. I didn’t actually go on the “shop floor” yesterday so this was my view from the second floor as I rushed past to get to class. Note the lack of shoppers? They were on their way!!

I was very happy to have been able to enroll for Noriko Endo’s class, Fabric Scraps, Free Motion Quilting. She started the class with some very loose instruction which was a little scary but everyone set to work diligently at their stations. Eight hours later my piece just needs its facings sewn down on the back…

The pieces are all secured under a layer of black tulle and then heavily quilted. Fun!! Noriko was still smiling at the end of the class…

Then, after a brief rest in our room we set off to celebrate… Being with Cheryl Sleboda meant a spot on the party table with Pokey Bolton, Jamie Fingal, Leslie Tucker Jenison, Judy Gula and Liz Kettle amongst others… After a few beverages…

… we danced the night away!

Cincinnati sure does know how to make a girl feel welcome!!

I’m so grateful that you posted this. I’m signed up for Noriko Endo’s class in Houston, and am trying to assemble a set of supplies which might actually be useful for whatever project she assigns. Looking at the photo of your project was most helpful.

Tanya, Noriko is a lovely lady! I am sure you will enjoy her class. I will be at Houston too. I am looking forward to it.
