I thought I’d embroider a bee on my orange quilt but it looks like a cicada…
That’s not a good thing unless you are an entomologist with a speciality in cicadas?
My quilt looks like something landed on it and needs to be removed…
That might well happen sometime soon…
I had other things to do. Cheryl and I visited Pride of the Prairie Quilt Guild last night. That’s the Plainfield Guild that meets in South Naperville.
After business came show and tell with everything from Cubs tribute quilts,
to house quilts (this one came out so well in the photograph where you get a fresh perspective on the design),
to quilts inspired by the evening’s speaker
who was Victoria Findlay Wolfe with her wonderful lecture and trunk show. Here is a huge king size quilt that was made over a 9 year time span.
Now I’m thinking I shouldn’t have thrown out all those odd blocks? Or maybe it was a good thing, not everyone can pull off this look! Victoria certainly can. I am looking forward to her 15 Minutes of Play workshop today.
Meanwhile I am taking part in a new Blog Hop next week for the launch of the QATV 1400 series. Vivika is hosting a give away over on the Quilting Daily website today. You could win a DVD set of the whole series! There’s around 30 minutes of me on it!! I’ll be sharing more on Monday.
Off to pack my bags, I’m ready to play…
I am a fan of cicadas. Would it be better if there were more of them on the quilt? There is never just ONE cicada.
I will think about that….
