Gina sent out the newsletter from Pieceful Heart Fabrics last week. I just have three new classes this quarter along with some nine favorites…
Here is my Blossoms and Buttons wool applique piece made with a pattern from Plays with Wool Designs.
It’s about 18″ across, backed with a floral cotton. Each of the flowers is finished with a different embellishment stitch and the buttons are covered with yellow hand dyed wool so there will be lots to learn in the class!
Groovy Mama is a free for download pattern on the Hoffman fabrics website designed by Aunties Two Patterns. It’s put together with two layers of batting and has washing line inserted in the channels to make a fun floor rug…
It goes by the name Groovy Baby in a smaller size…
I have a few new ideas on how to keep the sewing lines straight without marking everything. The rugs should be washable. I’m keeping the smaller one in the kitchen so I will be able to see how well it wears…
My other new class is a Quilter and Child Class but I forgot to take a picture before I delivered my sample…
This is my latest felted wool bag I made to take to Cincinnati. I haven’t ever kept one for myself before. I bought leather handles and made sure to line it before adding a magnetic snap and some fringe. It will fit my new ipad 2 which arrived this week…
On Monday I went to Fair City Quilters in Sandwich. They were a lovely group of ladies who listened extremely well and even laughed at my jokes! My program was at the beginning of the evening but I stayed for their Show and Tell. Here is a beautiful Trip Around The World Quilt that was made almost entirely from its maker’s stash. I think she said she just had to buy the border fabric.
Since then I have been struggling with a cold that dear Benjamin shared with me at the weekend! No wonder he was cross. It wasn’t just the molars coming through. I am planning on being better by tonight to go and fetch Jonathan from the airport. Everyone will be here for Easter. It’s going to be a busy weekend.
Just one picture of Benjamin to finish with… before the cold attacked!
