I drove home from Champaign on Saturday evening. I was so tired… I put the laundry in, enjoyed the Chinese carry out Steve organized for us and was asleep by 8.30!
Sunday morning I unpacked my bags, put my lecture quilts out flat to rest and then started packing again. Here’s a look at some of my stuff by the front door before we loaded it in the car. There were actually seven plastic tubs in total. The back seats all had to go down flat to fit everything in, but we did it and I was ready to set off just before one.
The GPS was set for Cincinnati, and 320 miles, two quick stops and five hours later I arrived at my hotel. I always feel ridiculously pleased with myself when I do a long drive on my own. I had NPR and then podcasts from BBC Radio 4 and also from While She Naps for company. An eclectic mixture of education and entertainment kept me awake and alert the whole way!
Cincinnati is nice enough but of course I am here for a reason.
On Monday morning I made the short drive to the F and W photography studios to start the photo shoot for my book. Yes, it really is happening. I’ve been working towards this week for a while now but I really wasn’t sure what to expect.
Here’s just a couple of pics to give you a little idea of the set up.
Ready for close ups…And my machine looking lonely before we did the process shots.Just one more day of photography to go, then I’ll be returning home to finish the manuscript before I wait… and wait.
I’m hoping for a release date next spring. I’m told patience is a virtue!
It’s warmer here than at home. There are daffodils in flower. The little pansies I’ve got as my featured image are outside my hotel. Aren’t they pretty?
Congrats! How exciting…
Exciting, Catherine!!!
