It’s Spring Break this week. The schools in Rockford are closed and I have visitors!
I really should clear up the dining room. This is the aftermath of the three days I spent in Rosemont last week.
I can’t even open the curtains… It’s such a mess, I don’t want the neighbors to see in and find out what a bad housewife I am…
I’m going to have to get it done by Sunday because I have invited some friends to come for dinner and I am not planning on us eating in the kitchen!
Meanwhile Julia decided my oven needed some help… Here’s a half way through picture.
I took it on the way out to breakfast. I was going to breakfast and leaving Julia and the children home…mmm… what kind of a grandma am I?
So now we know I’m not an expert housewife or a good grandma. Well I don’t suppose that’s news to many people.
On my return to the house we all watched Big Hero 6. The family I asked in Target said it was suitable for a five year old…. Benjamin only had to hide his eyes a few times. Ruby and Julia seemed to be napping. I sat on the sofa with Ben and worked on my stitching.
I’ve been doing a little project with wools from Marcus fabrics.
The wool comes in lots of different colors. Here’s a little peak of the more traditional palette, whipstitch appliqué finished.
I’ve added some embroidery to the bright version.
So the movie’s over, we’ve played a little Play-Doh, and tried out Uncle Jonathan’s car tracks.
And I found something I am good at… Giving out jelly beans!!
I can now be known as grandma jelly bean!!
The sun has finally emerged so it’s time for a little deck sweeping activity.
And the solitary crocus at the top of my post? It’s the one flower blooming in my yard. It might officially be Spring Break but I’m still waiting for spring…
My kind of woman! Stitching forever, housework whenever.
Your grandchildren are just darling! Glad you got a little help with the oven. Those overflowing bags look wonderfully interesting! I wish I could help and carry things to their rightful spot.
Well, I got everything upstairs just not put away yet!
