We quilters like to think ahead… so today I have finished a small wallhanging for Pieceful Hearts Fabric.
It’s from a little pattern from Bloomin’ Minds in Iowa called It’s Cold which seems appropriate enough for a piece featuring three snowflakes Nancy is making kits with 10 different blue fabrics in them for the pieced and fused background and then 2 fabrics for the snowflakes. I always enjoy making four patches. It is very satisfying to press them open and see a nicely matched center!!
My family really is trying to make me a little more technologically-savvy… I am now using a Bluetooth headset with my cell phone. I manage to only cut off around half of my incoming calls with it, but I have yet to master the art of transferring between people successfully… I have also almost got to grips with my new camera… so I guess it was about time to visit Best Buy again…
We came home last night with an Apple MacBook… I did manage to plug it in and even changed the weather forecast city on the Dashboard (don’t I sound knowledgeable?) but I have a feeling there will be a long learning curve on this one. My idea of “intuitive” does not match up to Steve’s… but I have made a protective case for it today!
I layered a piece of Julia’s screen printed fabric with some fusible fleece and a plain pink fabric and free- motion quilted it all over with a feather and swirl design. This is the front side…
and this is the back…
Next I cut the piece to size and shaped the front flap and bound all the raw edges by mchine.
All that was left was to fold up the front and sew the sides.
I added some velcro squares to keep the flap shut. And now I have a handy dandy computer sleeve!
I’m all ready to hit the road which is good because I am looking forward to my trip to Southern California next week. Now, if only I can learn how to upload my pictures onto my laptop and I remember the power cord, and don’t lose my tickets… I will be able to keep up to date with all my adventures.
nice fabric for the laptop case!! 🙂
