I need a wool appliqué sample for my visit to Prairie Star Quilt Guild in August so it was time to return to a circles piece I put together at least 18 months ago…
The plan is to show some fun ways of adding something extra to wool work so I started adding some stitches…
and then some more stitches…
Still a work in progress, but here are some close ups…
Bullion stitches,
Fly stitch and buttonhole scallops…
Back stitching and french knots too… Fun!
I had to take a break for an It’s a Wrap class at Pieceful Heart Fabrics on Saturday. Just two students but a good time…
Here are our completed bowls,
and here are the smiling potters!!
On Sunday we had a full house for an embroidery class. We were so engrossed in our sewing I nearly forgot to take pictures. I made people unpack their bags and pose…
Here are three of the happy stitchers,
and four more…
The others were camera shy but everyone had got to grips with six stitches by the end of the afternoon. I will look forward to seeing some completed projects?
I did finish quilting my log cabin quilt last week. This morning I hand stitched down the binding and put a hanging sleeve on the back.
It is hard to take good pictures without a helper but this view gives some idea…
and from the back…
and a view of some of the texture introduced by the quilting…
Now I just need a title… Then I will make a label and it will be done with two weeks to spare!!
Back to the wool circles this afternoon.
Love the texture on the log cabin!
Really like your projects and your classroom photos
I really love the log cabin. The white space and the texture and the linear aspects are really great together. It makes me want to dig out of my giant pile of boxes and get sewing.
