I took my two large, very lightweight suitcases downstairs and started packing on Monday.
I put my stuff in first… samples, demo supplies, class kits…
And then I took a break…
I really don’t like packing but I managed to have it all done by 7.15 this morning and by the front door. Here’s ten days worth of luggage ready to go!
Yes, I like pink and purple!
SouthWest Airlines got me to Austin and a nice young man from Ethiopia gave me a geography/history/economics lecture in the cab on the way to the hotel…
So now I am better educated and I am here, opposite the Convention Center. Here’s the view from my window.
The sky is blue and it is warm outside. Life is good.
So what am I going to be doing while I am here? I can go and register and get my name badge in two hours time… tomorrow (Thursday) I am signed up to go to the Award Ceremony which should be fun. I have a Modern Machine Quilting DVD signing in the Bernina booth (#405) at noon. I have 20 DVDs to give away so I am hoping a few people will show up. I bought a new marker that promises to write on plastic. I’m not quite sure where one signs on a DVD but we can work it out? It’s the Moda party in the evening. No fancy dress this time… I am OK with that!
On Friday I will be giving demos in the Cherrywood booth (#322) on walking foot quilting. Karla will have my DVDs available for sale throughout the show and I have pins, postcards and fridge magnets!
On Saturday morning I am taking a class, Basic Improv Quilt Making with the Quilters of Gee’s Bend. I am looking forward to the ladies original presentation style. I haven’t packed a lot of supplies for the class as I’m not really expecting to do a lot of sewing.
Saturday afternoon I leave town, headed for Fort Lauderdale and the cruise.
Lots fun to be had before then…
Sound amazingly fun. Enjoy and wear sunscreen!
Good advice, I packed the factor 50!
Sounds like a good time will be had. Am sure you are ready for some warm weather. Have fun.
I think it was 9 degrees on the way to the airport. It really makes me appreciate being warm!
Have a great time! I’ll be anxious to read about all your adventures.
And you know me… I’m looking for a few adventures!
Wish I could be there too. Traveling across the ocean for 4 days in Austin just sounded a bit extreme for me. Especially if it would mean that travel funds for the summer would be depleated. So, I am glued to the social media to see what all of you QuiltCon people are doing and enjoying the goodness on show!
( Wow, packing for 10 days, and projects…. You need a caddy… Maybe I could volunteer for next year? LOL! )
Have a lot of fun!!!

Hope you have a great time and sell all your DVDs. Look forward to the stories you bring back and share : )
I love the color of your suitcases! I wish I could be there, but I will be looking forward to your posts about Quiltcon!
