I quilted two more placemats yesterday.
Still Cherrywood Fabrics and Aurifil thread with a Woven Stripes binding. I use Quilters Dream cotton batting inside, either Request or Select depending on what is out on the side…
This one has a half inch grid and a quarter inch spiral. My sewing machine (a Bernina 820) has a built in dual-feed system which means I can swap feet at will and still have the benefit of a walking foot.
I do love the close up looks…
That’s the Aurifil 12 weight mako cotton in orange for the spiral.
I put a “square spiral”, it’s really a pentagon, on the other mat. I start from the outside and go into the middle on these.
Not too shabby?
And the news?
Yes, I’m going to be teaching at International Quilt Festival in Houston this year! Ever since I took my first class at Rosemont, too many years ago to remember, I dreamt of teaching in Houston, and it’s going to happen this year. I’m to be included in a Machine Quilting Forum, the Friday Sampler, and have five classes too… That’s going to keep me busy. I will be signing my contract and getting it in the mail today!
awesome job and awesome news!
Thanks Mary!
