I’ve been home 2 weeks already! It took the first week to recover and catch up… the house was all spick and span. I guess being away 12 days gave Steve time to miss me… There were no dishes in the sink, the laundry was done, the mail was in tidy piles… nothing to complain about!! Not to worry, I’d got the place back to normal within 24 hours… It’s easy to work out who makes all the mess around here.
But, to get back to the workshop.
I did enjoy the time we spent painting. Here is my flower, an exercise in blending and layering – background, middle ground and details…
I’m looking forward to quilting it soon. Maybe I’ll add some beads too
I bought Tyvek when I was in Denver but never actually got around to doing anything with it. We not only painted and heated 2 sorts of Tyvek but also experimented with plastic bags and bubble wrap…
What to do with those samples?
Then there was an envelope of collage “stuff”… We had an hour and a half to paint, glue, emboss, stamp… Interesting?
So after 5 days here is my table full of all the good things I achieved…
And all that was left were the awards… Sheila was celebrated for being the best at following instruction. This was illustrated when she was asked to try fitting into a suitcase and was swift to comply…
My award? I need least translation… sometimes it’s useful being bilingual english/american!!
After a last dinner together on Friday evening we returned home to start the recovery process… On Saturday we drove to see the snow! Steve informed me he only had to look out of the window to see the snow very close at hand but it was much more exciting to go driving up the mountains to get a good look. After all, all I had to do was sit in the passenger seat and take pictures. We did stop at the odd quilt shop on the way!
But we were missing our paints so on Monday we got them out again and set up our tables to start on some of our City and Guilds projects…
We made the most of the sunshine to sit outside and knead our polymer clay…
And so, after a few hours we had 3 project sheets completed…
Just got to get the t-shirt…
I flew home to the freezing temperatures of Illinois… Maybe being warm would become tedious after a while if I lived in Southern California… or maybe not. After all, it certainly poured while I was there this time.
