I’ve been working on the needlefelted piece I started way back this week. Having stocked up on perle cotton and silk ribbon in Rosemont and Paducah it was about time… In the back of my mind I had thought that perhaps it would meet the requirements for “miniature art quilt” in Houston. I checked and yes, a quilt just needs to be less than 24″ on all sides to qualify… So I carried on with my beading when I thought perhaps I should check the entry deadline for the show which is at the end of October…. No surprise I guess… it was two weeks ago. So now I have another year to work on it… or something else… There’s always an excuse, or is it a reason(?) why I don’t even try to get something juried into a show…
Here’s what it looks like now…
Here’s a close up of the off-center yo-yos, ruffled ribbons and beads I added…
I used some of the hand-dyed silk and chiffon I bought in Paducah for the yo-yos. It’s all very organic… it’s certainly “just growing”…
Other things…
We’re off to a wedding this afternoon. I’ve got a new pink twin-set and sequin embellished skirt… If the skirt isn’t a success I’ll be able to cut it up!
On Monday I’m speaking to Joliet Quilt Guild. I’m going to add some new quilts to my trunk show. That means I have to take some old ones out…
ooooOOOooo, very cool.
