Last Post of 2022!

Joanne and the children are on their way so this is a quick post before they arrive.

The weather was not very co-operative the night of the viewing party… but what we lacked in numbers we made up for with enthusiasm!

I did take one selfie in front of the big screen.

If you missed it, you can still watch the program over at The Quilt Show online.

I needed to get in the holiday spirit so I made some mince pies. The mincemeat had kept well in the freezer for several years!

Outside the weather was frightful… temperatures are in Fahrenheit for those outside the US!!I decided I needed to come up with a new embroidery design so I did and I have been stitching a little…I should have them available by the AQS Daytona Beach show.

Julia’s family joined us for Christmas. I started well with a picture of Julia and the ever elongating Ruby and Benjamin at the lunch table. But then I put my phone down… so we just have memories 🙂

On Monday we got to work. I had managed to persuade Julia and Matt that all I wanted for Christmas was a clean and tidy basement…I knew it had hidden potential!!

We needed shelves… (Costco finest)Let’s begin! At the beginning of day twoAnd done.Ready to be put into use for packing, shipping and storage. Everything is out of the spare rooms and the dining room. My sewing studio is still upstairs and contains my current creative materials, sewing machines and all that stuff. I have already assembled thirty wool appliqué  kits for Road to California and the dining room is still a dining room!!

Benjamin and Ruby posed for one last picture before they went home on Wednesday. Grandpa had done a good job of playing games with them while their parents and grandma were busy. Apparently he didn’t get much better at Skyjo, even with a lot of practice.

2022 has been a very busy year, a little too busy at some points. I traveled, I zoomed, I traveled some more… I learned to be careful what I wish for!

I did one of those top 9 collages from my Instagram posts. I am happy that it did include a family pic, and a friend pic along with all the stitching, my new BERNINA 770QE plus and the basement clear out!

I have some good things on the calendar for 2023. I don’t think I will be quite so busy but time will tell?

I’m so happy that you got your wish. The heart can be more peaceful when the head has order, and wow, but you all made a great looking spot for storage. Happy New Year
