It’s been a while…

It’s been too long. I always have good intentions, but you know where they lead?…

QuiltCon was fun. It was amazingly busy with a record attendance of over 25,000 visitors. I’m not sure how it was calculated but there were lines for everything, even to say hello to Suzy! (Suzy was at school with my daughter Julia and I can’t not stop to say hi?)

I had made a quilt for the mini quilt swap that took place on Friday. Yes it was busy, and too loud for me to hang around very long. I made Pretty in Pink and received a lovely wool appliqué and embroidered quilt from Teri Berrier  (@terisquiltlife on instagram) in return.

We had filled out a form with our likes and dislikes. Mine basically said “surprise me” and I lost the one from Teri. I was glad she liked pink!!

Here are a couple of pics I took at home before I put it in my suitcase.

I was able to help out in the Fish Museum booth a bit. I had heard about Deborah’s pincushions but never seen them in real life before. This squirrel needed to come home with me.

I really didn’t go shopping. I added some pins and stickers to my bag. I bought the Crimson Tate one. It could have come free with a purchase but I do not need more fabric right now!! And I did want one of Heather’s pins

Friday morning I visited the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. I was there at opening time so I had about an hour before it filled up with multiple school field trips!

From the sublime (and very big)…

To the not so big…

If you were hoping to see pictures of quilts? I did take some but there are so many out there I’m sure you’ve seen them. I went in early on the Saturday morning to be able to get a good look for myself. You can always ask to see my pictures if we are in the same place at the same time?

My trip to the Triangle Area was 10 days. It was a long time to be away. It was good to be home a little while before I left the house again.  I had a deadline to meet… I did it! And kits to make.

I’ve been a few places during March. I will save them for another day.

Looks like you had a great time Catherine!!!! Know what you mean about not needing anymore fabric, but does that stop me??? NOOOOO!!!!!

Hope you’ll be doing some more virtual classes soon, really miss those and wish you were going to be at PIQF this year. 🙁
