Having signed up over at the Modern Quilt Guild’s QuiltCon link party I guess I should follow the instructions and think of five interesting things about me…
If you know me then you might think that it’s hard to think of five interesting things… but I’ll give it a go because I do like to please people* (that’s number one?)
Number two, and possibly three: When people ask me where I am from I am inclined to say “Naperville, Illinois” but that’s probably not the answer they are looking for… We have lived in our home in Naperville for longer than I have ever lived anywhere. However we moved from London, England nearly seventeen and a half years ago. Is that where I’m from? I spent my childhood in the north of England and if you listen carefully you might hear it in my accent… was that fact number four?
I only need one more…
Number five: It took two classes but I just learnt how to make a Keynote presentation at the Naperville Apple store. I am quite techno-phobic but I was determined to push through the pain. My Safari through African Folklore Embroidery lecture will now be accompanied by a rather nice set of slides, complete with builds and transitions!
So, there you go! Not too sure if they were interesting “Catherine facts” but they are at least all true. I’ll be the white (some might say platinum blonde) haired English lady in Austin. Please say hello if you see me. I’m registered as a Super-Volunteer. Be patient with me. I will be trying to keep everyone happy. (*!)
Hi there Catherine, nice to meet you!
see you soon!!
congrats on Keynote presentation–that’s fabulous!
Thanks! The geniuses at the Apple store are working hard to teach this old girl a new trick or two!
