I’m packing for a trip to Bloomington Normal to visit the Hands All Around Quilt Guild. I’m leaving just after lunch and I’ve got bags everywhere. I really do hope that I will get more organized with practice. My stuff seems to be taking over the house…
In the mean time I have had a good week. I have added three trips to my schedule, had a quilt accepted for publication AND heard from Quilts Inc. about Houston this year (seven classes, two samplers, a forum and team leader in the Iron Quilter Challenge) . It seems like everyone has realized that a month has already gone by. 2016 is here to stay!
I managed to meet a deadline by getting up early on Monday to sew the binding on my little Explorations piece. This isn’t a terribly flattering picture… It’s 18″ square, made using some of those flying goose units I was stitching in Temecula. I quilted it using a combination of walking foot straight lines, a free motion feather and just a little hand stitching in #8 perle cotton.I called it The Long and Winding Road… I’m never quite sure what’s around the next corner!
I have printed out my maps for my trip. I’ll set the GPS in the car. I’ll let you know how it goes…
Hands all around quilters are looking forward to your visit. Iam looking forward to seeing you too!

Donna
I love your quilt. Wonderful combination of details.
Catherine, having a great time learning and laughing with you at Hands All Around Quilt Guild. And as a visitor to this guild, “Thanks to everyone for making me feel so welcome and part of the group. I sure wish I lived closer.”
Catherine, the guilt above has such a lovely look with your different methods of quilting! I am learning a lot from you.
Lovely quilting, you are great inspiration.
