Everything is awesome…

…when you’re part of a team… and yes, I am living the dream!

Thanks to Benjamin for introducing me to my new anthem from the Lego Movie. If you haven’t seen the music video then you need to… watch it here.

So now you have the music stuck in your head for the day (there could be worse things) you might be forgiven for wondering “what is she on about”?

Since I returned from our UK trip I have been trying to get caught up on just about everything, from laundry, to projects I should have finished before I went, to quilts I need to have made, quilted and bound to be photographed by November 30th, all the while getting ready for Houston and THE cruise!!

Julia and the children came over Tuesday and supervised my efforts at clearing up my studio. Benjamin and Ruby are very good at carrying my stuff up stairs… Julia took pictures for two of those projects I was supposed to have had written up.

Wednesday I got mail!

Two complimentary copies of International Quilt Festival Quilt Scene magazine.

And why would I be receiving complimentary copies?

Yes, I have an article, a whole article!

The editorial team took my words, edited them and made a three page article, all about walking foot quilting. Note the photograph from QATV, makeup by Karen, hair by Helen, clothes from dream on. The art team took my placemats and made them look super cool in a beautifully staged picture.

And, if that’s not enough, that little blue box at the end of the article makes my heart skip a beat…

The DVD is due out the middle of December!!

Then, I turned to page 64…

It’s the pin collection quilt. Julia took that picture of me basting my quilt but didn’t want to admit to it! Now you know.

Please forgive me for being so excited but I hope I never get over being excited about all the awesome things happening in my life…

I got more mail on Thursday.

They are 1″ pins I had made at cheapestbuttons. Julia did the art work and Kyle did the best work of making them! I’ll have them with me at Open Studios in Houston in honor of the article and DVD. I got 1000 of each design. I hope not to be bringing any home with me… They are free as long as people promise to wear them.

I took them to Naperville Modern Quilt Guild in the evening. The ladies had all offered their opinions on suitable pin wording in September and now I had them made. Here’s Nancy wearing hers.

One size fits all. The colors look good on all skin types.

So, the preparation for next week continues. I had my hair cut yesterday. I bought two super light suitcases. Sheila and I are checked in for the cruise and we booked some shore excursions. Choosing a suitable drinks package took a LOT of thought…

Everything is truly awesome… everything really is cool when you’re part of a team.

Everything is awesome… I’m living on a dream!

P.S. those buds at the top? a hope of things to come…
