Finishing up and moving on…

I finished my little wool piece with a cotton circle and a green wool one on top of the teal circle I left you with last time…

Backstitch around the outer edge, stem stitch around the appliqué cotton and lazy daisy and pistil stitches in the center, all with the same variegated #8 Valdani pearl cotton…

DSC03505Julia and Matt had arranged a little trip out for us on Thursday evening. it was a little stressful getting Steve to Rockford in time but we made it and enjoyed a fun evening at the taping of NPR’s news quiz…

DSC03510The lights outside the Coronado Performing Arts Center in Rockford are only out dazzled by the lights and gilding inside. The theater was refurbished and restored to its 1927 grand style in 2001 and it is always worth the drive.

On Saturday I was back to Pieceful Heart Fabrics for a Machine Quilting 2 class. We had a full complement of students to get to grips with the joys of free motion quilting.

After drawing the designs,

DSC03516Well done everyone. Let’s get those tops made into quilts!

This evening I am off to visit the Village Quilters in Wheaton… I have packed my bags with my wool appliqué samples. I have little kits for everyone to have a go for themselves and a new slide show of pictures. I think I am ready. It will be my third visit to this very friendly group of quilters. I will take it as a sign that they like me?

Tomorrow night is Guild night at Riverwalk Quilters. It’s PAQA on Wednesday and on Thursday we will be exploring Beading Basics at PHF…

Once again, it’s a busy week in quiltie-land!
