The weekend went by in a whirl of one thing and another. I finished quilting my sand dollar quilt. I made progress on my knitting and I added a hanging sleeve to my QuiltCon entry.
My poor hands could do with a little TLC?
Something to remember when making a hanging sleeve… after you have hemmed the ends make sure to put your tube wrong sides together for sewing so the long seam is hidden against the quilt… Remembering saves ripping out!
Yesterday Julia and the children came over. I had a laundry basket of papers for Julia to (help me) sort. Best daughter ever! (no offense to other daughter/daughter in laws… yesterday it was Julia)
A few hours later I filed my sales tax returns.
A little trip out to celebrate was in order. We found a wonderful parking spot in downtown Naperville. It took a while for Julia to select a birthday present and then Benjamin and Ruby spotted a train for a quick photo shoot.
Benjamin cheesed first,
and then it was Ruby’s turn.
They both start five morning a week pre-school today so it’s going to be harder to fit these day trips in…
I caught up with Downton Abbey after my visitors went home. So now the sand dollar quilt is bound and finished.
This morning I printed out labels for my friendship star quilts and the QuiltCon entry. Today I need to attach those, package up the show entry, visit the Post office, get a hair cut, organize some wool for future classes and then it’ll be time for Riverwalk’s Annual Holiday party…
Did I say I’m so glad Julia was here to keep me focused on those taxes yesterday?
The snowflake at the top took a while to work out… I got a lens for my phone for Christmas but how to catch one single snowflake and take the pic before it melted? (I used the bottom of a frozen package out of the freezer…)
So industrious and super photos. X
Thank you Aunty Ann!
Love the pictures of the grandchildren.
It’s hard to get them to stand still for a picture these days!
