It’s been a week already since I loaded up the car and drove South to Indianapolis. Apparently Indianapolis sees itself as the Crossroads of America and it does seem that I’m usually just passing through but this time it was my actual destination!
I checked in at my hotel with just one small detour because I haven’t updated the maps on the GPS since some new roads opened… and met my hosts for dinner. The members of the Quilters Guild of Indianapolis were very hospitable!
The evening meeting’s held at the Second Presbyterian Church. It’s a very grand building. This is the back entrance…
The proceedings began with business…And then it was me! I had to stand on a little platform but I managed not to fall off. It was my first go with my new KeyNote presentation. (That’s the Mac version of PowerPoint if you were wondering.) Having a slide show means that everyone gets a close up view of my quilts and I’m able to include a few extra features for fun.
I was so busy getting set up that my crowd pictures were taken after I spoke. People look happy? The other side of the room looked OK too!We finished out the evening with some Show and Tell.
A pretty Stack and Whack quilt. This next quilt was made using vintage blocks bought at an estate sale. The farm themed blocks in this quilt told their own story.I think this quilt was a block of the month program. Notice it matches its makers choice of clothes! And this was the back view of someone else’s quilt. Lots of big quilts from the Indianapolis quilt makers.
Super.
Time for sleep and get ready for the next day’s adventures. I’ll post class pictures tomorrow.
