So, the children decided an update of my life is in order and have redesigned my web site and reordered my blog… They tell me it’s very easy and I shouldn’t even notice the difference in my blogging technique…
I need to get to grips with the technical changes in my life so where better to begin than breakfast last week?
Joanne helped with the coasters to match my table runner… She cut the designs apart (or “fussy cut them” as she was pleased to inform me). I managed to work out a no-hand-sew way of adding batting and a backing that was reasonably neat and tidy… We made 10 ready for our guests …I do like that Four All Seasons fabric.
Breakfast looked interesting so I took pictures of that too…
I did a cheesy bread pudding, baked tomatoes, bacon and fruit salad. Lots of color and texture!
(Just so you know, it took me 12 hours to upload those four pictures… including dear elder daughter taking over my computer, an upload of some flashy thingy and dear daughter doing something else… I think there was some conversation with techie son too but I wasn’t privy to that.)
I was too excited when everyone arrived to take more pictures but the food looked pretty good when it was cooked!
That was the day before my birthday…
I had the privilege of everyone being “home” for the evening of the big day. We decided to have Christmas a little early. If we can start our Christmas services at Church on the 23rd I’m sure it is alright to have crackers and turkey too…
Here is one side of the table… like the hats on the compliant members of the family?and the other side…
It looks like they enjoyed their dinner?
Kathy made an excellent cheesecake and Sarah brought a birthday cake…
And just so you know I really was in attendance…
After dinner we exchanged gifts with James and Sarah and watched Love Actually… Some people stayed awake to the the end. Maybe the others would have preferred Die Hard but it was my birthday and I got to choose! Apparently Die Hard is considered a Christmas movie because it seems to have been aired several times over the past few days?
On that happy note I think I will draw to a close…
The new class schedule is out for Pieceful Heart Fabrics and I have actually been doing quite a lot of quiltie stuff but it can wait for another day. This old dog is exhausted! Thanks Julia and Jonathan for dragging me into a more up-to-date world!!
Happy Birthday Old Friend 🙂 I miss you.
