We returned for one last visit to Road to California on Sunday afternoon. I took lots of quiltie pictures and Leora posed with me for one in the African Folklore Embroidery booth.
I need an apron like Leora’s!
My quilt was in the first batch ready for collection so duly collected and stowed we got on the road, ready for our next adventure…
It was dark by the time we arrived in Vegas and it had been a long day so we waited until Monday morning to go and investigate our surroundings.
Being brave and intrepid travelers we took the bus right down the strip and started our trek at the Excalibur. I took 200 pictures but here are just the highlights of the day!
First up is the Statue of Liberty and Empire State building at New York New York.
We had lunch at the Bellagio. These are two Chinese children playing in the Conservatory.
I couldn’t resist pictures of the Eiffel Tower outside Paris.
The fountains at the Bellagio were so much more than I expected.
We took a gondola ride at the Venetian.
There were more celebrations of the Chinese New Year at the Wynn.
The lanterns were lovely.
According to Google maps if we had walked directly from the Excalibur back to the hotel it is 3.8 miles, but we did not take a direct route… no wonder our feet were exhausted by the time we reached our room. I slept well!
Yesterday it was time to visit the quilt shops. There are three left in Las Vegas and we visited them all. We started at Fabric Boutique, moved onto The Christmas Goose and finished up in Henderson at Quiltique. I have the pins to prove it.
I have to admit that Quiltique was my favorite of the three, bright and airy with a fabulous selection of fabrics all displayed beautifully…
Very nice!
But you can have enough of a good thing and it was time to hit the road home. As the sun began to set in the west we began to get a hint of things to come.
It’s difficult to get a picture through the windshield but suffice to say, we enjoyed a wonderful sunset…
And so we returned home, after a quick trip to Target for an extra bag…
Now I need to pack. It’s time to get get back to reality…
Looks like you two had another great adventure…when you get home, let me know if I should extend my stay…!
It’s cold…
