`It snowed on Friday night! Not surprising really, after all it is February, and we are in Illinois, but we haven’t seen real snow for so long… perhaps that’s why we had such a small turn out for our Naperville Modern Quilt Guild sew-in?
We might have been small in numbers but we were big on fun and productivity! Svetlana sewed her nine-patches, Sharon cut out her next project, Pat finished her binding…
and I sewed a jelly roll together. The Zoo Menagerie by Eleanor Grosch fabrics from Craftsy went together quickly with some little teal inserts and I had a quilt top ready to bring home…
I have two co-ordinating charm packs. My plan is to use them to make a top for the other side so I will have a reversible quilt. I’m not sure when I will have time to get to them…
I am excited to be visiting Faithful Circle Quilters in Downers Grove in April. I am going to be teaching a beading and embroidery class and I needed to get my samples made post haste… So, that’s what I’ve been doing for the last two days!
First my beaded 8″ square mini quilt.
I couched strings of beads around the flowers, and added stacks to the center of this one.
I made a branched tassel,
and a rather nice edge treatment…
Next I needed to make the embroidery sample. There’s thirteen different stitches in this sampler…
So now they are done! I can get ready for my Safari Through African Folklore lecture tomorrow in McHenry.
No time for any mischief!
