I promised I would write more about one of my Christmas gifts.
It was the last present left under the tree… had the best really been saved until last?

And an added bonus was a picture with the giver of the gift.

Ruby learnt to crochet for her 11th birthday, using a kit from her Aunty Joanne. She took to it straight away. You might remember the ducks she made for her mother from my cruise blog post ?
I saw a pattern for making peas in a pod and suggested that I might be very happy to receive a pod and nine peas to represent our nine grandchildren and then I tried not to nag. (Imagine me not nagging?)
Well, apparently the suggestion was taken on board but Ruby likes to do things her own way. She is 14 after all!
So, inside the wrapping was a fabric bag of not nine, but nineteen peas!! She designed and executed her idea HERSELF!!
Here’s the front of the bag…

And here’s the back…

I think she just had a little help with the iron on transfers. The words and the design was all her.
Nineteen peas, two dark green ones for the oldies (Steve and me!) and seventeen lighter ones for the rest of the family. The cutest stuffed crocheted peas, complete with eyes.

She is a mistress of her sewing machine. Zips? No problem. Clear plastic panel with satin stitch edges? Of course. Curved Organic curves with sharp points? She’s read the book!

And the funnest nutritional details on the back.

Best present ever? Thank you Ruby.
What is she going to make next?

This is fabulous! What a creative genius she is, and can’t wait to see what she gets up to down the road!
What a great creative and memorable gift Catherine. Ruby is very talented, just like grandma!
