Pieces From the Heart, Morris Illinois

It’s not very far, just 40 miles down I-80 to Morris, but it had been a few years since I was there. Now I have Google maps on my phone connected to the screen in the car. It’s so much easier to navigate the streets and find where I’m supposed to be…

A board meeting was in full swing when I arrived at the Pieces From the Heart Quilt Guild so I left them to it while I got all set up. We had a good turn out to take a Trip Around the World. There was much merriment over some of the guesses from our volunteer travelers.Show and Tell was after the break. There was lots of it.

A beautiful bargello quilt.A little “learning quilt”. The maker informed us she still doesn’t like needle turn applique. I feel her pain! She also had a baby quilt to share with us. I think it was for a one year old grandson but I could be remembering wrong. It has been known to happen. 😊Oven mitts were very much on display. I think they are to be sold at the upcoming quilt show?Who doesn’t need a bag to put things in? It was a very big bag.Planning ahead… I’m seeing lots of winter quilts on my travels.I have been wearing sandals, if not flip flops, the last few weeks… And a BIG patriotic quilt!Labels are always good…Just right for a golf themed quilt.

It was a super evening!

And then I just needed to drive home. I had been a little anxious about the return trip though construction in the dark, but it really wasn’t too bad. Good lights on the car do help! Thanks, Pieces From the Heart Quilt Guild… I hope our paths will cross again before too long.
