Out and about

A busy three days… On Monday morning I picked up Sheila and we set off for Rockford. We stopped at Stitching on State in Hampshire on the way but we weren’t allowed to take pics in the shop and it was raining when we left so you’ll just  have to believe me that we were there…

We were made to feel very welcome in Rockford! After lunch we set off for the conservatory but it is closed on Mondays… We enjoyed our walk around the grounds. Ruby and Benjamin said hello to a little girl and her dog. Despite their best efforts to attract her attention she just  kept on reading…

DSC04943On Tuesday morning I introduced Sheila to the delights of Quilters Quest. We had a nice chat with Long Arm Bob hard at work on a customer’s quilt and Sheila left her name in the basket drawing jar. (Do you think she will share it with her good friend if she wins?)

DSC04968 Quilt Bee met in the afternoon and then it was time for a trip to Sarah’s Grove Quilters Circle in Schaumburg. Joanne was a fine chauffeur and we had lots of time to set up and say hello.

DSC04971Sheila used the time to catch up with her Facebook friends…

DSC04972 I was there to share my Language of Flowers lecture. I had great quilt holders. (Thanks ladies)

DSC04986 They did a wonderful job while I explained the intricacies of making my flower quilts.

DSC04993They were a very attentive group. I hope they enjoyed the evening as much as I did!

Today we drove down to Paducah (six and a bit hours ) just in time to visit the Quilt Museum before it closed. No pictures allowed inside but here’s the outside.

DSC05002 Tomorrow morning we have a trip to Hancock’s of Paducah on the schedule before we get back on the road to Nashville for a little wedding planning.

Almost 600 miles since Monday…
