I’m back from Santa Rosa so it’s time catch up…
Let’s start at the very beginning.
Two large suitcases, a carry-on and my big handbag complete with little mouse ready to go!
Steve took me to the airport. I’m quite happy going early because it gives me time for a little stitching at the gate. Before I knew it it was time to board and four hours later I was de-planing in Oakland. (De-planing is a word… really!)
Jan met me at the luggage carousel and we didn’t have to wait very long before my bags appeared. A very nice young man decided I couldn’t possibly take my own luggage of the belt so I was delighted to let him help me.
We knew the traffic was going to be bad so we made a little stop to let some of it go by. Where better than a quilt shop? I’ve often seen ads featuring The Cotton Patch in Lafayette and here it is!
You know you’re in California if there’s fabric outside..
Inside there were lots of lovely displays to tempt the discerning shopper.
Jan found some fabric she needed.
And we had some very happy help!
I am well aware that I do not need any more fabric and those bags I packed were quite full so I resisted. I did buy the official Row by Row 2015 Fabric-Plate as a great souvenir of my visit (today’s featured image).
Shopping completed we set off again. It’s hard to take pictures from a moving car but I had to snap a few. I think this is the San Pablo Bay National Wildlife Refuge.
It was a lovely evening to be a passenger!
More about Santa Rosa tomorrow…
