PAQA has held a retreat at the Siena Center in Wisconsin twice a year for around 15 years. I finally managed to organize my schedule to be able to join the fun this week.
I packed my bags…
… and after taking a rather scenic route (many thanks to the Racine Sheriff for his directions…) I arrived by the shores of Lake Michigan.
I checked in with the friendly Sister at the welcome desk and I set up my work station in our spacious well lit room. Please note my new SewEzi table and Stella light!
Here is my view across the room as we all stitched happily away.
Wendy was close by. She moved from one project to another, reminding me to stay on task!!
I think I spent at least 20 hours sewing, from Monday afternoon through Wednesday. I guess I could have just worked at home, but the opportunity to stitch in good company, share stories and generally be inspired by the creativity around me made for a very good time.
And I wouldn’t have been able to watch Judy turn a heap of scraps into two beautiful baby quilts for a local NICU at home…
Before I know it, it was time to pack up and go. I spied these lovely crab apple blossoms and just needed one last picture.
Pictures of my progress? All will be revealed in two weeks!
