Day Four already! Are you having fun? Today’s guest is lots of fun. I’d like to welcome Maddie Kertay, the baddest BadAss Quilter herself!!
Now I know that BadAss is not a word that I usually use. I looked it up in the dictionary to see what those that are might have to say about it but they don’t seem to be able to come up with a firm idea. I heard it used on a sports commentary recently to describe a particularly daring soccer goal. It was definitely complimentary! Take a look at Maddie’s website to see how she uses the word… From Maddie’s definition I would like to think I am a BadAss Quilter too.
Anyway, I first met Maddie at QuiltCon when she’d just got things going and a couple of my friends wanted me to find her and get some pins… It took a few texts. I probably wasn’t looking for a sweet looking lady not that much younger than me! (She looks much younger than me)
We met up again at Quilt Market this year. Maddie is one on the front row on the right of this picture, hiding for some reason.
Maddie has a bricks and mortar store, Spool, in Chattanooga, Tennessee and guess where I was in September?
She’s in this picture keeping things in order.
Maddie does beautiful long arm quilting but she has been kind enough to watch the DVD and blog about it, right in the middle of her 8000 FaceBook followers celebration. Thanks Maddie!
So, hop over to Maddie’s blog to see what she has to say and then come back here and comment on my blog any time until Christmas Day and I’ll be picking one lucky winner who will win a copy of Modern Machine Quilting. Here’s the complete list of bloggers:

This is very interesting. I feel it can be applied to all quilting styles. Looking forward to learning more and hope I win!
Badass asked a good question why am I not quilting my own quilts, I need to learn more and jump in and give it a try.
my skill level stays stuck on – low to none. been trying for yrs to improve, so hopefully trying yr techniques will give new ideas to me. hope I win !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am excited! My son and his family just moved to Chattanooga and I will be visiting after the holidays and guess where I am going??? To Spools!! Thanks for the information. Looking forward to meeting Miss BA herself!
I really love to machine quilt and I love reading about how to do it better. Thanks
Another new person to look in on! Thanks for introducing Maddie. She posed a great question about why am I quilting my own quilts or why am I not quilting my own tops. Time for serious introspection. Quite nice that she is doing a thread give away in honor of your DVD!. Thanks for the opportunity to win!
Maddie has encouraged me to push forward with my attempts at machine quilting. Thank you, Maddie, for figuratively kicking my butt — and thank you, Catherine, for producing this DVD.
I have now added another blog to follow for inspiration. Love blog hops for the diversity and depth they give into the field that I would otherwise continue to be oblivious to their existence. I MUST have this DVD.
And you don’t want to know how many walking feet I’ve already worn out. Sadly, they weren’t used for quilting.
I’m a fairly new quilter and I would love to win a copy! I need all the training and help I can get. Thanks so much!

I am anxious to become better with domestic machine quilting. This book looks like a real resource for all quilters who are struggling
