Living in a crazy world…

The grandchildren survived their stay at Grandma and Grandpa’s house…As Steve said… “We didn’t really have to do much”…

Serious stitching went on hold for the week. Ruby completed a cross-stitch R and I did a little work on a Turtle Hand  batik panel. Each square is made by a skilled artisan and no two are alike. Here’s where I started…I add chain stitch in the batiking lines…and then I just keep going… fly stitch, buttonhole, cross-stitch, French knots…
I’ve still got a little way to go before I consider it finished. The panels are a lovely project for beginners or those looking for a small relaxing project. You really can’t go wrong.

And that’s a great segue into my announcement! Registration went live for my latest class. I’m teaching for Vermont Quilt Festival @ Home.
A three hour class in your home. I’m going to be in my virtual studio and you can be in your own comfy chair. All the details are over on the VQF website. Simply sign up, email me to order a kit and we will have a fun afternoon together!

Here’s another picture to encourage you 🙂The kit includes a mini panel, similar sized to the hibiscus one used for the pillow, hand dyed thread, needle, stitch chart and a few fun extras (surprise!). I’ll choose the panel and threads. You might get a flower, a fish, a butterfly, a bird… there are no bad ones. There are limited seats in the class so if you have ever wanted to take a class with me now is your chance… no matter where in the world you are?  N.B. Kits can only be mailed in the USA 🙁

I signed four contracts this week so I’m going to busy. I will let you know as they become public.

Time to work on some crazy quilting?

How about using wool?Traditional feather stitch around all the edges (160 of them).
Four borders made. Add them to the center, baste, start quilting…And another 162 inches of feather stitching to go…

Did you spot the butterflies in one of the pictures? I do have a book coming out next month… (Butterfly Stitches, available for pre-order now!)

Yes, this quilt has something to do with it. I will look forward to revealing it soon. I’ve been working on doodling a quilting design to fill the center panels and I’ve chosen my binding fabric.

It’s all systems go in the Redford household at the moment. Can we do it? Yes we can!

I assume the time frame would be EDT seeing as it’s for Vermont quilt guild show. Is it open to everyone or their guild first. Looks like a fun class. Is it going to be recorded for viewing at a later time. Don’t know much about the virtual world.
