Fun at Quilt Bee!!

I became a member of Riverwalk Quilters guild since 1999! It’s hard to believe that it’s been 26 years. Anyone who has heard my lecture Lessons Learned while Quilting knows what an important role they have played in my quilting journey.

I have belonged to several bees along the way but the Sew and Tell Bee has had my heart since 2012.

I had been promising a mini class since last year but life interfered… last Tuesday the stars finally aligned and seven us got together to have some walking foot quilting fun.

Machines were set up around the fully extended dining room table and I did my demos in the kitchen! We learned about pressing and basting before getting to stitching our squares. Straight lines, altered stitches and combined stitches before lunch.

After a delicious and nutritious pot luck meal we tuned into Love of Quilting via my subscription to Quilting Daily and I got to watch episode 4603 in good company!!

Do you like the threads on the table? That’s my Bodacious Blooms Artists Palette from Wonderfil, only available from me when I see you in person.

You can buy the colors separately from Wonderfil direct. They are a mixture of 60, 50 and 12 weight threads. You could come up with your own favorites. Hint… I chose two variegated threads and went from there.

After we were done watching the show we returned to our machines and tackled some organic curves and finished with a spiral.

Angelica is good at taking selfies. Here we are, just missing Debbie who had to go home at lunchtime.

It was a good day. I think everyone went home with some new ideas. Now I’m looking forward to seeing lots of finished quilts at our next get together 😉
