Following hot on the heels of my trip to Expo in Schaumburg on Saturday, Sunday afternoon found me at the Fiber Art Divas Annual Art Show at the Naperville Fine Art Center and Gallery.
The team had made a lovely job of hanging the show.
This was Jan Rajek’s Fall Risk series. So much fun!Moving along the wall I spy my Bleu, Blanc et Rouge Paris quilt.Three red pieces made a super grouping. Works by Laurie Peters (top left), Yvette Thorn (bottom left) and Linda Kurcz (The Art of the Boot)…Not just quilts. Woven vest, Return to Wake Robin, from Susan Chemler
Little dolls in wooden boxes, Seasons, from Susan Chemler again.Lovely beading and embellishment deserve a closer look.
Painted fabric and felting too, with my Christmas Hexies quilt just making it into the picture.Cynthia Boudreau was there to offer a needle felting demo. The PAQA Explorations quilts were also on display. That’s my Long and Winding Road mini quilt at the top right.Today’s featured image shows some lovely hand appliqué from Dorothy Larsen alongside my Ever Onwards and Upwards, and Sunny Day wall hanging.
Lots to look at!
I was scheduled to give an English Paper Piecing Demo before the end of the afternoon, hexagons and clamshells.
It’s not too late to go and see all the quilts. They are on display until November 5th. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, noon until 4.00 pm and Saturdays, 10 AM until 4.00 pm. at the Naperville Art League. Parking is behind the building or on the street. It would be an hour very well spent.
Lovely items. Wish I lived about 4 hours closer to Naperville.
Thank you for posting this. I will be there!
