The Fiber Art Divas show, Elements of Innovation has been open since Wednesday at the Naperville Fine Art Center and Gallery in town. The hanging committee did a wonderful job of hanging the art works. Everything looks great!
I did my free motion demo on Thursday evening for a select crowd…We had a fun time as we chatted and I stitched! I’m always happy to talk quilting.
I had a good day on Friday… I’ll write about it tomorrow…
On Sunday I returned to the show for the Artists’ Reception and another demo. I arrived early to set up my space, all ready for a little hand embroidery.
Denise was hard at work arranging the PAQA Art of the Midwest little quilts… It’s always good to see them out and about again!
I took a few minutes to take some pictures of the display in the gallery area.
Looking East,
Getting closer to the far end,
Those embroideries…
We had a steady stream of visitors all afternoon and I got busy stitching (and talking!) and forgot to take any more pictures until nearly everyone had left…
I did manage to catch Sharon and her free-form crochet.
Sharon spins her own yarns so every piece is totally unique, just like her!
You’ve got a few more days to visit the show before it gets taken down. If you’re in the area it really is worth calling in. Cynthia Boudreau will be giving a demo of nuno felting techniques on Thursday. Those were her felted garments on the mannequins in the gallery pictures. Go along and find out how she made them!
Such a fun group of artists.
Looks like a really great show! Love what you have shown in your photos! Well done, ladies!!
Like I said before after seeing all ofthis incredible work… I need to get busy….er
