It’s been six weeks and where have I been? Houston was my last work engagement of the year, so what have I been doing since then? Let’s do a quick catch up before the end of the year!
Well, there was Thanksgiving. We congregated in Rockford. Amidst the general mayhem I did manage to line all the grandchildren up before dinner and snap a picture of them together…
Julia (with help from Matt, Ruby and Benjamin) cooked an excellent dinner.
The next weekend we met up with our friends in Boston for some education and sightseeing. It was very cold but we dressed up warm and walked the Freedom Trail. Starting at Boston Common.
Past the Irish Famine Memorial,
Is that Bunker Hill in the distance?
Well yes, it was!
I did not walk up the steps to the top with the other three. I’m fine going up, it’s the coming down that’s the problem š
The next day we visited the Museum of Fine Art. Steve and Trevor found a battle painting…
I liked this bead dress, dating back 4,500 years, found in a tomb in Giza, Egypt. Amazing?
We also managed a trip out to Cambridge and Harvard Yard.
The weather looks good? Did I mention how cold it was? It was very cold!!
We drove to Wisconsin for Christmas. A quick visit to Joanne’s family on my birthday, and then on to James and Sarah in Chippewa Falls. It was not quite so cold when we went to see the Christmas lights.
And that brings us to today…
but in between there was a lot of stitching…
I pulled out my Binding Baby…
I cleaned up my sewing room.
There was a reason for the clean up…
Time for a photo shoot with Julia…
And the rest of the time?
Lots of sitting at the kitchen table…
I’m nearly done! It’ll be worth it in the end?
Finishing strong for 2024. Time to look ahead.
Preparations are well underway for Road to California (Ontario, CA, January 20-25), cruising in the Caribbean, and the Indiana Heritage Quilt Show (Bloomington, IN, March 6-8) with a few Zooms sprinkled in!
California in January is always good, and the Indiana Show is worth a trip, but if you just want to stay home, how about the QuiltFest Virtual School House? I’ll be teaching an all day button class and the ever popular walking foot class. They are very reasonably priced, with short supply lists and everyone gets a front row seat!!
2025 looks to carry on at a suitable pace. I will be in Paducah for Quilt Week (registration opening soon), and a new one for me… and everyone…
I will be joining the fun at Road to Virginia in Richmond, Virginia with three machine quilting classes, including all the things !
I will try and keep my calendar up to date so you can always look and see if I will be in your area. Let’s meet up in 2025!!
With everything else going on we didn’t send out Christmas cards this year but nevertheless I hope you had a very happy Holiday Season.
Here’s to a fabulous 2025, full of adventures and good times!
Love your binding doll!
Isn’t it so cute? It works very well on the top of my sewing machine to keep the binding clean and tidy.
Happy new years!
I wanted to take your March Virtual Schoolhouse class but 7 am is soooooo early for those of us on the west coast, but I’m debating, as I need help with the variations. Love the binding doll, that is fun!
Yes, it is early but I hope you think it’s worth it!! You will have all afternoon to practice š
