I was booked to teach two workshops for the Festival of Quilts in Heritage Park.
We had a great turn out for Walking Foot Quilting – Beyond the Ditch! on Thursday morning.
After completing the introductions everyone set to work getting organized to start stitching. There are only two seams to press in the whole class so it seems silly to get lots of irons out. Most people waited patiently to take their turn.It was full day of stitching fun!
We even managed a group photo.
Class started again on Friday morning for some Happy Scrappy Improv. It was a smaller group but everyone soon set to work. Some people were still thinking about the day before!
While others were sorting their scraps.By lunch time there was lots to look at on our gallery walk.Different palettes, some muted…and others bold!
By the end of the afternoon there were some finished tops. Peggy made two…The bold units had come together very nicely, beautiful rich reds and golds with a fussy cut poppy,a whimsical cabin in the woods complete with the three bears, and a rainbow of color set with grey.I’m looking forward to being able to post some finished projects soon?
Two good days of classes… but wait there is more to come from Calgary…
Wish I had known you were coming. I live three hours away but would have loved to have taken your classes. Beautiful projects from your students.
It was so much fun getting to know you during the Iron Quilter Event. Love your whimsical, jovial sense of humor! Fingers crossed I will get to see you again in Houston! Thanks for coming to Calgary!
