Christmas is Coming!

Eight days to go and it’ll be Christmas… I’m not hosting this year, probably a good idea because I still haven’t caught up from October…

I am home this week so no excuses. Let’s do a quick “Where in the world has Catherine been?”

After the Seam Retreat in Paducah I was only home for three nights and then I was on the plane to Houston for International Quilt Festival. No Market for me this year, just the four days of the show.

I taught an embroidered button class,

a hand beading class,

and an all day Walking Foot Class.

In between I got to hang out with my friends, just one picture with Yazzii and her beautiful bags…

It was a whirlwind of activity and before I knew it I was back on the airplane flying home!

Next stop Sheffield, England to spend some time with Steve’s mom and family.

It’s a scenic drive “over the tops” from Manchester airport.

The iPad needed some updates.

We spent a couple of days with Steve’s sister and went to historic York.

I had forgotten about the drop on the one side of the Roman wall

York Minster was bigger than I remembered.

The Shambles were crowded on a Saturday afternoon.

Four generations got together for Sunday lunch at the farm…

All good things come to an end and we drove back over the Pennines in the clouds ready to fly home!

Back home the Kindlers came to visit. We needed to take some pictures for the Christmas card.

Benjamin and Ruby are growing up fast.

How about a Zoom class? The Coastal Quilters of Maine were good sports for a full day walking Foot class. I needed to concentrate on which buttons to press but there was some excellent show and tell. A few people had left before we remembered to take a class photo…

And then back in the car for the Original Sewing and Quilting Expo in Novi, Michigan.

The BERNINA machines hummed in the machine quilting classes.

And then (deep breath) I went to Iceland. A wonderful six day trip.

That was October and November. I was away from home for twenty three nights. The rest of the time, when I wasn’t asleep…

I put a new sewing machine through its paces!

That red dot shows exactly where the needle is going to come down, I love it!!

I stitched and stitched to get ready for my next trip. Four nights in Northern California with my pals at C&T taping my next classes for Creative Spark. They are going to be so good… We were so busy, these are the only pics I have…

The table when we were all done,

Sophie with a new table runner I made to show combined stitches in action,

And camera shy Tristan doing her best to ignore me…

We taped hours of classes. I will let you know when they are available. Of course!!

And if you can’t wait, then here’s something coming before the end of the year…

The quilt I had on set at Love of Quilting in the spring is featured in the Winter edition of Quick and Easy Quilts.

Definitely quick and easy! The digital edition is available here now. The printed edition will be on the newsstands on the 30th.

(My new book is also on its way… )
