Walking Foot Quilting at Quilters Quest

I was up and about bright and early on Saturday morning ready for Machine Quilting 1 at Quilters Quest.

By ten o’clock we had a full class, all ready to get to work. The morning was spent preparing our pieces and going over some basics.

Samples basted it we took a lunch break. Lunch over, finally it was quilting time!

This combination of serpentines and straight lines looked good…

…as did this irregular matchstick quilting in red on a mint background.

This grid looked pretty fine too!

Matchsticks were a popular choice yesterday!

Five hours whizzes by when you’re having fun.

Next on the agenda was a Modern Machine Quilting demo in the BERNINA department out on the shop floor.

Tha ladies gathered all around this 7 series  machine ready to watch and listen. Two had already purchased and watched the DVD so there were some expectations…

I started with straight lines,

I had lots of samples with me so everyone got the chance to have a really close look.

And yes, we had a few laughs along the way!

I had pins and fridge magnets for everybody. We even sold some more of those DVDs.

Tomorrow I’m off up North to the Siena Center in Wisconsin. It’s time for the PAQA spring retreat. I’ll be repacking my bags again this evening!
