Snow Day!

I was home a whole day before it snowed…

That was handy because there were errands to run and a fridge to fill on Saturday.

The forecast was around 8″. Mid afternoon when it was still snowing we knew it was going to be more than that.

One local family braved the snow to take their sled to the park…

Pictures through the window was as close as I wanted to get!

This one is mid afternoon when the wind was picking up and blowing the snow around a bit.

Steve started the snow blower up at about 7 a.m. this morning. After clearing one side of the driveway he had to go and get more gas before he could do the rest. I found my way downstairs as the sun was rising. He had nearly finished…

That’s a lot of snow! (around 14″ I’m told)

I love the way it looks with the sun on it, before it gets disturbed…

Apparently it was the fifth biggest snow fall recorded in Chicago. I don’t think records go back too far because we’ve been here for three of them.

I did go out this morning. I had an optician’s appointment. I’ve ordered two new pairs of glasses. I’m getting blue ones this time… to match my eyes, or may be the sky?

I can’t complain, in three weeks I’ll be in Grand Cayman!!

It is pretty to look at but not always fun to live with. We have had our fair share in up state New York. Safe travels!

Nadine, I think you get far more than your fair share. It’s only news worthy here because we feel left out so much of the time 🙂
