Return Trip to Faithful Circle Quilters Guild, Downers Grove, Illinois

I got home about noon, emptied the car, sorted a few things out, sat for a while, repacked the car and set out again Wednesday afternoon.

It’s only a few miles east from Naperville to Downers Grove but that doesn’t mean it’s any less of an adventure?

I laid my quilts on the tables at the front and attached the cables to the projector… It’s fun to watch people look at my quilts. Some people keep their hands in their pockets…Some just can’t resist touching…If you are ever at one of my presentations know that I leave the “untouchable” pieces at home these days… It’s definitely easier for everyone that way!

Business and then my turn. There was a good crowd. Looking left, and looking right…An attractive bunch?

We turned the lights down and got on with some Lessons Learned While Quilting. I had been warned to stick to an hour and just squeaked in on sixty minutes. I didn’t hear any snoring!

Time for Show and Tell. The members of Faithful Circle Quilters Guild are very productive.

Elizabeth Hartman’s Fancy Forest for a special baby. There were several quilts inspired by Modern Quilt Studio, including this one. This one was a block of the month from A Different Box of Crayons.A medallion quilt.Lots of stars, finally finished and destined to be a donation.Another Modern Quilt Studio quilt, and lots of beautiful batiks.A bright modern sampler, and a triumphant Cubs quilt!Three finishes from tops that had been maturing in a box…

Simple nine patches, half square triangles and flying geese, and some scottie dogs on parade…It’s certainly good to get things finished…

No time for any stitching here. Just managed to get some groceries and it was off to the airport…They were just the first arrivals this weekend.

We’ve been busy.

  1. I’m happy to see that guild is still very active, lots of members. I gave programs and workshops for them back in the 1990s.
