October butterflies

What happened to September?

I feel like I haven’t done anything… I did go to Iowa City, there was that quilt show the other weekend but I really haven’t had a whole lot of anything to tell you about  🙁

That’s probably because I made 10 mini quilts for a magazine article that won’t appear until the new year and I have finished 12 embroideries for a project that will debut at Houston 🙂

And I do have two new butterflies for you!

First the embroidery version,

lots of chain stitch, plus cross stitch, fly stitch, wheat sheaf and some french knots.

Let’s look a little closer?

I made a few modifications to make the design suitable for wool appliqué.

Here’s where I’m at right now.I might add some more embroidery later on. I’m not sure.

Here are some close ups.How are you doing with your stitching?

I’ve got two more months to go. Is there anybody out there keeping up? No pressure or anything. There are still only a couple of brave souls posting their pictures on the Facebook page. Perhaps you are all waiting to post a completed quilt? I’m having fun and I hope someone else is too!

Today I am off to visit the Macomb County Quilters in Michigan. My bag is packed for my Lessons Learned lecture tonight and the Walking Foot Quilting class tomorrow. I’m flying into Detroit and then being picked up. It’s a short flight but much easier than a six or seven hour drive in each direction.

I think October might be a better month for blogging.

Time will tell.
