Not quite a thousand pyramids…

I took some pictures of my Thousand Pyramids quilt, otherwise known as Indian Summer when I was at the store for the beading class today… It’s a quilt from Jan Krentz’s latest book for C&T Publishing , Quick Diamond Quilts and Beyond. There are more like 250 or so pyramids in it but I gave up counting… I’m not too sure the pictures really do the colors justice but here’s one…

Jan’s quilt in the book is in yellows and features sunflowers, hence Indian Summer… mine is based around a rather nice pink and purple hollyhock fabric, so it’s more Summer is on its Way but the classes were titled before I chose my color scheme. It’s good to keep people guessing.

The beading class went well. I was expecting a small turnout based on the numbers in the book on Monday but after the catalog went out Tuesday we had several last minute sign ups.

There were a good number of students that got to go home inspired and ready to add beads to their next quilt… fun times ahead!
