Needle in a Fabric Stash

Where better to visit after an awesome quilt retreat than the newest quilt shop in town?

We picked up a flier before we left the retreat center, punched the address into the GPS and lo and behold, in the time it took me to check in for today’s flight, we arrived at 43049 Margarita Road, Needle in a Fabric Stash.

Advertised as not your Grandma’s Fabric Store, we were grandmas but we all admired the bright and cheerful store, stocked with the latest designs from the likes of Charley Harper,  and Cotton+Steel…

A wide range of solids from Free Spirit took up this corner.

Connie admired a sample of Faith’s Starfall quilt by the front door.

Kay and Sheila perused a copy of Denyse Schmidt’s Modern Quilts, Traditional Inspiration.

We all found something we needed to take home. Sheila bought fabric to make a dress for her grand-daughter.

I bought a yard of one of those Free Spirit solids for my next embroidery project.

The store is family owned and run. If I lived in the area I would definitely be going back, if only to sit and chat to the friendly staff! But you know I’d be buying fabric too… There’s a busy class schedule, a block of the month schedule and online shopping is coming soon.

I wish Sue and her team all the best for a long and happy future.

Is a great store. I am trying to decide what to do with the fabric I bought. But for now it will just go into my stash…

    Dear Catherine,
Thank you for your visit and very nice blog entry! I wish we could have chatted more the other day. One of my favorite magazines is Modern Patchwork, and I have a great many projects I can’t wait to finish using their patterns with my new fabrics in the store. Hope we talk again sometime.
