Mayan Hieroglyphics done! Time for a give-away?

I’ve been posting pictures for a while of my latest traveling project.  Brenna wrote a blog post over on Quilting Daily this week…

It’s finally done! All stitched and pressed…IMG_7845Nineteen Mayan Hieroglyphic inspired embroideries ready to include in a quilt sometime soon. I think it’s time to celebrate with a give-away?

Here are close-ups.

Which one do you like best? I think they could all do with names… Leave me a comment with your favorite and a suitable name for your choice and I’ll pick at least one winner on Tuesday 5th to receive a box of my favorite House of Embroidery hand-dyed threads.

Meanwhile, I bought myself a new mug this week.IMG_7853This weekend’s adventure is a trip to Nashville to see Jonathan and Lauren and enjoy everything that fine city has to offer. Time to finish packing!

I’m looking forward to reading your comments…

10 looks the most tranquil. How about morning in paradise? Reminds me of my garden early in the day, cup of coffee in hand, birds singing.

They’re all wonderful. Lots of beautiful handwork taking many hours to complete. Number nine strikes a chord with me. Looks like a neat old owl. “Words of Wisdom From Long Ago” sounds like a good name to me.

I love your work. IT is always so colorful with lots of beautiful stitching! Number one is one that I like a lot and the name “Blossom Delight” seems fitting.

Beautiful! They remind me of the bead work of the Huichol Indians. #15 is my favorite, it looks like a fierce fish, how about the name Mighty Ocean Dweller

I like them all, but maybe 16 the best. They kind of look like aboriginal faces, or totems.

#10 seems to be best suited to have the name “Feeling Funny in my Mayan Mind”. It appears this one may have enjoyed one too many. Very creative and inspiring work Catherine, thank you!
