Mary Ellen’s Happy Scrappy Finish!

The family are here!

They have gone out for a little while. I have loaded the dishwasher, put the laundry on, cleaned the kitchen counters…

So I’m taking a few minutes to show you a picture I received yesterday.

We’ll start with a reminder from the Creative Quilters Guild of Centerville, Ohio where I spent a fun few days in July.

Mary Ellen got straight to work in our Happy Scrappy Improv class. She had quite a few units made by lunchtime.IMG_8359By the time we were done for the day she had inserted lots of tiny strips. She seemed to have the beginnings of several quilts? IMG_8366I always end the day asking for photos of finished projects and every so often I get one!

Here’s the picture that came in my in-box yesterdayIMG_0266 (1)Quilted, bound and everything.

Don’t you just love it? Fresh bright colors, lovely insertions, wonderful edge treatment…

And it all started with a bag of scraps and some happy thoughts!

Thanks Mary Ellen.

Now I need to plan lunch for the hungry hoards.

Love the finished little quilt ~ ~ so fresh and bright. And I love your statement that it all began with a bag of scraps and happy thoughts. I’m going to save that one for a rainy day, if I might??
