No sooner were we back from New Orleans than we were out again for a day trip to the farm in Wisconsin. The skies were blue and I took lots of pictures but I will just include this one of a silo roof against the old barn. I think there’s a quilt in there somewhere?
We (dad and I) needed a trip to Rockford on Wednesday. If only we had arrived five minutes earlier… fill in the blank… but it wasn’t long before we got everyone sorted and went to the Conservatory after all… Benjamin and Ruby behaved as though they are always perfect…

It’s been hard finding time to stitch but I have been working on my cruise project. A toucan for Belize, an anchor at Roatan, lots of space for everyone to make their very own unique embroidered souvenir of the trip!
Yesterday I was in Hinsdale at the Salt Creek Quilters Guild. Arlene had brought her African Folklore Embroidery Poppies to show me. The colors are very striking against the black background.
Salt Creek Guild don’t meet during the summer so it was their last meeting until September. It was time for the changing of the board. At least all the ladies were smiling about it. That’s their raffle quilt at the left of the picture. The winning ticket was drawn at the meeting. Everyone was very happy when the daughter of one of the designers won!
I gave my Lessons Learned While Quilting lecture. I had 70 pieces to show. I didn’t see anyone asleep. Even dad stayed awake and I think he laughed a little. On Saturday I return for an embroidery and beading class. We have a full class. I hope everyone comes ready for a fun morning.
