Happy New Year!

Only a week late…

I hope you have been having a good year so far 🙂 I spent the first few days feeling sorry for myself and nursing a cold.

Now that’s over, and life is happening! I actually spent a few hours at the sewing machine… after I spent a few hours clearing up my sewing room… Making that zebra skin quiltie thingy had resulted  in quite a mess!

I’ve posted a few pictures of some of my sashiko efforts before. You remember that Steve tried to be interested and asked what I was going to be doing with all the panels? I had an idea. I found the fat quarter stack of Shibori inspired Shimo fabrics by Debbie Maddy for Moda I bought at Sample Spree last October, did a little math and voila…

Eight mug rugs, just right for gifting!

Here’s a more artistic picture…I gave five away at a luncheon party I was invited to at the weekend. I made eight more yesterday so I had more for my bee members today. I still have lots of panels and several fat quarters of fabric to go…

And remembering that zebra skin quiltie thingy… Here’s Bonnie to say hello! She wears it well?

I’ve started packing my bag for Saturday. I went shopping today for a few suitable clothes to wear in warm places. Five days in the Dominican Republic are sounding good to me… there is snow in the forecast for Illinois. The next set of pictures might include palm trees.

What a sweet picture of little Bonnie. Adorable! Don’t forget your sunscreen. Great way to escape the winter blues here in IL!

I’ve been looking for the right material to go with my shashiko. Mine is larger and will be a pillow.
