Back to work!

I’m gradually getting used to the four hour time difference between Hawaii and Illinois…. really I have just been sleeping late most days 🙂

And I am back to work. My bags are almost packed for my trip to AQS QuiltWeek in Daytona Beach next week. I shipped my kits so I just needed my teaching materials and I will add my clothes and personal items on Monday. There are spots in my classes if you happen to be in the area!

I am now working on my kits for STITCHES West in Sacramento the week after that trip. I really want to have those bags packed before I go to Florida. (If you are planning to be in Northern California, class sign up is open here)

I have also been filling out proposals and signing contracts for other shows and guilds. It all takes time!

And I taught a fun free motion class over the weekend for STITCHES at home. There were actually ten signed up, but the number of attendees varied in each Zoom session. There were just six students on screen when I remembered to take a photo. The students get the opportunity to rewatch the recording for two weeks after class and many of them do that. I’m available for questions and everyone seems happy with the arrangement.

I received three long awaited boxes yesterday. Steve carried them down to my work room and I opened them up.

Too much fun! Boxes of beautiful threads from Wonderfil. I made my selections back in October at Quilt Market and here they are…

First up Classic Neutrals, eight spools of 12 weight, 50 weight and 60 weight threads in shades of beige and grey…
And as if that wasn’t enough, there is also Bodacious Blooms, a selection of bright colors that make me think of spring flowers.I’m going to have them with me in my pop up shop when I travel. I hope my customers like them as much as I do!

Time to get back to work. Those kits don’t make themselves!
