While we are waiting…

The new granddaughter isn’t actually due until next week but we are always impatient for good things to happen … while we are waiting I have been getting a few things done.

I finished a Twister style quilt with the Art Gallery Coquette line of fabrics I bought at Pieceful Heart Fabrics. I was too cheap to buy the ruler so I drew lines on a 6 1/2″ square and made it work…

I used Pellon Legacy wool batting and did an all over flower quilting design. Here it is after a quick wash, hanging on the deck railing in the sun.

and a close up…

Julia chose the fabrics and she says she likes the finished “grandma chic” quilt.

Teaching an African Folklore Embroidery class is an excellent way to keep busy! We had a great turnout the other Sunday for an introductory lesson… Once we got the needles threaded everyone got to work with their chain stitch…

The number one rule of African Folklore Embroidery is to have fun. That means smiling is definitely in order!

Smiling even continued when winding our threads onto card to stop them getting tangled…

Everyone made great progress on their projects from village huts to flowery teacups…

I already have two bookings to speak for African Folklore Embroidery next year. I am hoping there will be more.

So in between times I have been knitting a few pink cardigans and I took a few minutes to get all the buttons sewn on. All different sizes but all pink!

We delivered them on Monday. It was Labor Day but not for Julia… Oh well…

Benjamin had a great time at the park so I will finish with a picture of him… All ready to be a big brother!

Tomorrow I am off to Madison to go to Quilt Expo. The Alzheimers Art Quilt Initiative exhibition From Heartbreak to Hope is on display there so I am looking forward to seeing my little quilt on show. Maybe I will have some pictures to post?
