Walking Foot Quilting… beyond the ditch

There were just a few of the Hand All Around ladies waiting for me when I got to the church on Saturday morning but very soon we had a class and a half, all unpacked and ready to go…
IMG_5325 We started with the basics and before too long everyone was stitching away.

Plenty of blue tape in use…
IMG_5337The lunch ladies provided us with a meal fit for a queen. (Note table decor!)IMG_5340We had lots of fun sewing lots of straight lines, serpentines, spirals and such. So much fun I forgot to take any more pictures!

What a great group of quilters. I hope we’ll stay in touch.

By the way if you were just waiting for the right minute to buy your machine quilting DVDs. This might be it. Interweave have a very special offer in the store… My two DVDs together with Susan Brubaker Knapp’s latest one, 52 Free-Motion Quilting Motifs and Fillers, all for $49.99. That’s $25 off the regular price, while stocks of the Quilting With Your Home Sewing Machine Collection last.

Thanks so, so much for the heads up on the videos! Just put my order in for them, now I have to wait for their arrival. So glad you’re having a good trip. What a great time everyone is having.

Just loved this class and learned several new things that I can apply to the baby quilts I make. Especially liked the serpentine stitch, the spiral, and the effect of using 12 weight cotton thread (top stitching) with a sharp 100 needle to emphasize some of the quilting. I gained a greater appreciation for modern quilting – especially the machine quilting techniques! Thanks, Catherine!

Too bad we didn’t get a picture of Catherine wearing her “queenly” crown during the lovely afternoon tea. Yes, this lovely group had two afternoon teas! Loved it!
